COURSE OBJECTIVE
Small Business Associations (SBAs) are voluntary member-based associations of small business people who cooperate to pursue common interests, such as accessing finance for their members or negotiating with governments to improve administrative procedures. In broad terms, their aim is the social and economic improvement of their members. The purpose of this course is to strengthen SBAs to reach their maximum effectiveness, in order to better meet the needs of SMEs.

SBAs include:
·       Organizations of micro-enterprises that have common purchasing and marketing activities or share the use of common equipment.
·       Organizations that have common economic activities: pre-cooperatives, cooperatives and community enterprise.
·       Organizations that defend and promote the interests of their members through lobbying and advocacy.
·       Organizations that provide shared social services such as health insurance and child-care facilities to their members.
